Pythagoras theorem
In Maths for the past few weeks we have been looking at a formula called the Pythagoras' Theorem and how it works
let's use this triangle as an example
let's use this triangle as an example
Example:
1.) Draw a Diagram and put the labels ( Right Triangle )
2.) Put the label A= ,B= and C =
1.) Draw a Diagram and put the labels ( Right Triangle )
2.) Put the label A= ,B= and C =
Ex: A = 10
B = 6
C = ? =
3.) Write down what is given.
4.) Show the Formula/ proof
The square root needs to be at 2
Ex: A (2) + B (2) = C (2)
10 (squared) + 6 (square) = C (2)
10 x 10 + 6 x 6 = C (2)
100 +24 = c(2)
C = 124
B = 6
C = ? =
3.) Write down what is given.
4.) Show the Formula/ proof
The square root needs to be at 2

in science we have been learning about sound waves
on how they work and what they do
we also learnt how the eye works and what parts of the eye do
and we also did some stuff about the ares and how they work and what they do.
Maths grid
In Maths for the past week we have been looking at how to find out how many squares are in and around a grid.
There are about 6 different theories that you could use to find out the answer but my favourite two are 8x4 and 4x10 because they are both kind of the same and easy to do.
This is one of the simple forms 4 x 10 - 4 or 10 + 10 + 10 +10 4
Or in algebra form it would be 4n - 4 . (n = 10)
This is a 10 by 10 grid
If we just did 10 + 10 + 10 + 10 without taking any away it would equal 40 but that means we counted each corner twice and we would have an invalid answer so we do 4 x 10 - 4 = 36
to get the right answer

the second theory that im going to show you is 4x8+4 or 8+8+8+8-4
if you do it in algebra it would look like 4(n-2)+4
keep in mide n=10
Every single theory will equal 36 no matter what.
This theory works because you count all the sides apart from the corners so your not counting the corners two times. Once you count all the sides except the corners you add on 4 which are the corners.

the colour palette in the office is predominately made up of blues and greys. this creates an atmosphere of gloom,loneliness and boredom. this is combined with the use of a cold light from the window. the director has used this palette because in this moment Coraline feels sad and ignored by her farther who is too busy working to spend time with her.
in the 'other' office, the predominate colours are red and orange, this is combined with the use of a warm light creates a mood of cheerfulness,curiosity and safety. the director chose this colour pallet because Coraline has just arrived in the other world and met the other farther who wants to spend time with her.
at the end of the film these colour pallets have reversed with the other world becoming dark and gloomy and the real world becoming bright and colourful. this shows Coraline changing perspective as she becomes happier at home.

these colours create an atmosphere of... happy and welcoming.

use when you have several ideas to convey about a topic
e.g in this image, lighting is used to make the room feel cold, empty and depressing
lighting is used effectively in the shot of the real world kitchen to make it feel dull, depressing and lonely. this is achieved by using a cold light through the cloudy window, the director has chosen this lighting to remind us that Caroline's real world is boring and lifeless compared to the other world behind the door
in the other kitchen we see more things and a sense of delight,security welcoming.
lighting is used to create this by through the use of a yellow/orange warm light from a bulb above the table. the director has done this to highlight the positive relationship between Caroline and her other parents. whilst her real parents ignore her, the other parents acknowledge and want to spend time with her, this is re-enforced by the contrasting use cold and white light in Caroline's real world
shot one- colourful,magical, enchanting,bright and dream
shot two- sad, dull, lonely, blank.
lighting in the first shot make's her real world dull and the other wold colourful,magical and enchanting.this is done by using bright colours that bring your eyes attention to them. the directors made the colours like this to make the other world look nicer and Coraline's into a dull,lonely and blank.

social studies assessment
we spent a few periods leaning about a government system of our choose to make a poster/assessment
i made a poster about Hitler
Hitler came to power because of a few reasons including outside events, the strengths of Hitler
and the Nazi Party and the weaknesses of the opposing party. Firstly Hitler joined the
Nazi power, which gave him a taste of power. One of the other factors with
how Hitler came into power was the Depression of 1929 which created poverty and
unemployment which made the people angry at the Weimar government.
Germans were still angry about the Treaty of Versailles which Hitler promised
he would overturn.
Hitler controlled people by introducing fear into them. While the Jews were never the bad
guys, Hitler made everyone think that they were by making a law that all school teachers
had to teach about the bad things that the Jews apparently do. Unsurprisingly Hitler held
a lot of power, by having the military as backup to him Hitler could kill anyone and everyone that
got in his way. Overpowered by Hitler, everyone just listened and followed Hitler's orders
without saying anything.
